Blogger Award

I got a lovely surprise yesterday when I received the Most Stylish blogger award from this lovely lady here

Here are the rules for the award:

1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this award
2.
Share 7 things about yourself:
3. Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers
4. Contact these bloggers and tell them about the reward!

So here are the seven things about me that I thought I would share:

1. I have an awesome gigantic statue in my room of a frog on a bench. He is holding roses and waiting for the bus. It makes me smile every time I look at it because it's so goofy. I love my frog on a bench.

2. I collect things whenever I have a really great day, whether they be random free postcards, beer mats, photos, letters, drawings from the kids I teach or whatever else I can find. I stick these on my wall and my room kind of resembles a giant scrapbook :)

3. I'm the most uncoordinated person I have ever met. I can't go a day without running into things, falling flat on my face or knocking something over. Mum won't let me eat away from a washable surface. Neither will Joel actually...

4. In primary school I was put in the 'special kids' gym class. Again because of the whole uncoordinated thing.

5. I like to talk during movies and tv shows, then asked when I missed while I was talking

6. I write songs on piano but am too judgmental of myself and usually never finish them.

7. I love anything to do with the 20's- early 60's (except Mad Men...). Rockabilly, swing, awesome jazz piano players, Elvis, old-school tap, pin-up and petticoats are some of my favourite things.

Now here are the fifteen lovely bloggers I would like to pass the award onto (I wish that I could pick everyone I'm following!!):

1. Not Your Average Ordinary

2. The Hummingbee

3. Life in Technicolor

4. Letters from Maud

5. Village

6. Ellecupcake

7. Jenni Austria Germany

8. The Meaning Between Things

9. Red Boots

10. Wishful Thinking

11. Vintch

12. Katie Anderson Writer

13. Sara in Le Petit Village

14. Just Putting it Out There

15. Kimbirdy

ps. If you click on the names there's a link, I'm too lazy to make it orange again :)

wow! Thank you so much. :) You made my day! Oh! I am very bad at talking through movies as well. Especially when I've already seen it and the other person hasn't.. also horrible at saying "oh! This next part is so funny!" .. even though it bugs me when people do it to me. :)

Thanks! You've made my Thursday :-)
That frog on the bench sounds really cool! I love statues of frogs, not actual frogs, but statues and ceramics are so cute.

Thankyou, sweetheart! You have set my day up for happiness :)

I love a lot of the vintage things you mentioned although I am intrigued...is there a reason you don't particularly like Madmen? I started watching the boxset a little while ago and I love the fashion and the artistry of it but I am not very keen on the infidelity---I think that is the part that gets to me the most!
you are so sweet! i liked reading your facts. funny that you don't like mad men! i have never watched it but i just always hear people obsessing over it. and the gym thing made me sad/laugh at the same time. :) i will be thinking of my facts!

Congrats, I will have to check these out. Oh, I love to talk during movies. This is why I hate watching a movie alone because I need to talk about it.

Aww, thank you Kaylia! I can definitely relate to your lack of coordination. New black and blues occur practically daily for me too.

Guest Post: Vanisha

Hey guys, here is the last guest post and I couldn't have picked someone better (if I do say so myself). I have only known Vanisha's blog for a short time but I'm already hooked. It's funny, honest and there are always beautiful photos to drool over. PLUS she lives in Canberra and does a much better job of summing up my awesome home-town than I do. Enjoy! Hello! I'm Vanisha from Vanisha's In Life...Australia  Kaylia invited me to write a guest post whilst she's on her fabulous holiday! Being asked to write a guest post almost feels like being invited into someone's home. I'm honored. Kaylia said write about "anything" so I thought I'd write about an amazing trip I recently took.  A lot of people find it odd that of all places, we decided to got to Timor Lestse. Let me preface this decision a little. It all started in front of this fire place in the middle of winter in the Kangaroo Valley. Two acquaintances sat. Trying to get war

Guest post from Deidre of Decoybetty

Here is another guest post from a fabulous blogger; this time it's Deidre from Decoybetty. This blog is one of the funniest, most honest, most inspiring blog around (with the occasional dash of delicious recipes to boot). Check out her beautiful blog at www.decoybetty.com and you'll see why she is one of my all-time favourites. Guest post: When Kaylia asked me to write a guest post, I stared at the blank screen and the only things that came to mind is how every post that Kaylia writes, I read along going “Yes! Yes! Yes!”  This girl writes (albeit way more eloquently) what I’m thinking.  But you read her blog, you know how fabulous she is.   She recently wrote about the ‘anonymity’ of travel. I’m addicted to this feeling.  I’m an expat. I was born in America and got my first taste of Australia in the young adult book “Looking for Alibrandi” where a teenager skips school to hang out with a boy which is basically all the things I am not. I’d never skip school and I didn’t r

Guest Post: Brandi of ´Not Your Average Ordinary´

This guest post is quite exciting for me, as Brandi was actually the reason I first started my blog. She was one of my first followers and has been such an inspiration throughout this whole process. On top of that she is the sweetest person ever and such a beautiful woman inside and out. Without further ado, here she is: Ritual I was so flattered when Kaylia asked me to guest post for her. You see, she's one of my favorite sources of inspiration and honesty on the great big blogosphere. I was sipping tea, trying to decide what to write and feeling more unsure of myself than ever. It's been a bit like that lately in my world. When moments like those overwhelm me, I stop what I'm doing and brew a pot of tea. The first cup is reflection, the second poured becomes evaluation, the remaining cups devoted to action. It's one of the best things I do for myself all day, the little ritual. There’s something wonderful about daily rituals – those little times during the
